Garland Aint Got Nothin On This Gal - RSAMD March 2006

Garland... was my first exploration into solo performance and dealt with the issue of how to find a partner in an ever increasingly isolated environment. Set in the alternative cabaret genre (and therefore attempting to parody current fashion for burlesque, fetish and variety performance), I was able to explore my personal identity as a lesbian performer through the ironic statement 'I'm looking for a husband'.
This performance featured live music (with piano played by Brian James), slow
motion chair dancing, stand-up comedy, tableau vivant and preparatory baking.
